Election shall be by voice vote if there is only one nominee for an office. If more than one candidate is nominated for an office, the election shall be by a plurality of those present and voting at an in person general meeting by a written ballot or voting at a virtual meeting by email. The term of the office for all members of the Executive Board shall be from July 1st to June 30th. In the event a vacancy should occur among the elected officers, the President(s) should call a meeting (virtual or physical) of the Executive Board within 30 (thirty) days to appoint a new officer to finish the unexpired term. If all Executive Board Member positions are not filled during the general elections, members of the Executive Board may conduct a meeting (virtual or physical) at the time a candidate appears to appoint a new officer to finish the unexpired term.

Proposed 2021-2022 Amended By-Laws

Please check out our proposed by-laws for the 2021-2022 school year here. Most of the edits were small technicalities but we did reform the Election of Officers to be less formal and more inclusive of the community as a whole. We want our officers to be representative of our entire volunteer community and not just parents that an official nominating committee happens to know. The amended by-laws will be available for viewing all summer long and will be voted in, along with any suggested/approved revisions, during our first meeting next year. Please email us with any questions or suggestions.

Thanks!

Great job Explorers!

You’ve been reading all your emails and coming to all the PTCO meetings (Wait, you’ve been doing that, right???) so by now you already know that the school relies 100% on donations to fund our teacher assistants and provide grants to our Creeks to fill in the gaps where the district budget falls short. This has been a tough year for almost everything, fundraising included, but you still raised $15,007 and we couldn’t be more proud of you!

We know everyone missed our in person fun run but you did a great job with our first, and hopefully last, Virtual Fit-a-thon. So give yourselves a socially distanced pat on the back and we hope to see you in-person next year at the starting line of our fun run course!

Don’t forget you can still help us raise funds throughout the year doing the things you’re already doing!

PTCO Update- December 2020

Our general PTCO meeting on 12/3/20 was canceled but here’s a quick summary of what’s been happening from your PTCO presidents:

Hello Explorers! We hope you had an easy transition into remote learning and enjoyed your holiday! We don’t have much to update this month, so we are going to update you here in this email. If you have any questions, of course, feel free to email us anytime.

Fit-a-thon

Congrats and thank you to everyone who helped our school raise a whopping $15,007.00 that will be used for classroom/technology needs and fund our awesome TA staff! We would like to express our excitement with you that every prize was 100% donated and PTCO didn’t spend a dime making the $15,007.00, a total success! A big thank you to our teachers and staff for all their help and encouragement! Once we get back into the school building we will have the prizes for the top earners, parties for the top classes and catered pizza party with Mr. Watanabe for those who earned it.

We remain hopeful that next year we will be able to return to the Fun Run and provide an in person experience with the kids! Thanks for sticking it out with us during this adventurous time!
